Fear: The Fake Demon of New Year
So tell me how does it feel to go back to work? You closed
last year with a high note and everlasting smile that seemed light years
away. You posted all your famous photos
for Christmas and happy New Year party reapers sessions. Do not start frowning
at me. I also blasted my selfies in the social media and if you failed to click
a like button or a quick comment I felt endangered and fearfully made. Why should we worry and we publicly broadcasted
our wishes for end year. We vomited all our cares and concern to unknown bar
tender as we religiously ordered another round of amusement parked teargas of
depression.
Now its 8 days after the hype of New Year and the thunder diarrhea
of worries has not stopped but earnestly started. How conveniently you hear things but you can’t
see? You do not have to visit the monkey
doctor for herbal prescriptions and diagnosis. He is also hearing voices like
you, has not paid student loans and has not finished his yoga classes. You are
both walking with blurred vision and slumped shoulders. Both you are wondering
how you will make it. Dreading
the thought of another year stuck in this same job. Ugh. Any of this sounds
familiar? Well, welcome to the rat race. And be glad at least you have a rat
race. It’s just that, a race.
But don’t worry so much because you still have your new bold
end year resolution. Everything looks perfect on paper but what is holding you
is the fear. How do you implement your resolution without drastic measures of
changing the patterns in your daily life? The fear of the unknown clouds your
thoughts. The fear of failure stalks you like a shadow. On your wish list you
wished for money to rain in your life like snowflakes. Now you are stuck in the
mud of snow dead broke and with bills to pay. Sorry to bother you. But I kept
my promise that we shall meet again on this forum God willing. Talk about tough
love. I won’t spare you none, I positively guarantee that. I will not leave you
until you have no reason to be scared of demolishing the fake demons of New
Year.
Forget what they told you. Remember what they didn’t tell
you. If my theory is correct action is the
enemy of fear. To face the ghosts of New Year you will need to do normal small
actions over and over again. Perhaps you need to start saving some money, call
a friend- place that call, read about starting a small business, research about
relocating to a new city, Re-writing your resume, proposing to her, signing up
for a life changing program, Going to church this Sunday and forgiving your Ex
with all the drama, connecting with a loved one and repairing that broken
relationship. It’s just about everything
and anything in between. Call me a mantra I am just a blogger and I have my
fears too.
Life is all about relationships, everything else is just but
a bonus. There is nothing wrong with you. The only problem you have not broken
last year’s patterns and now you expect a miraculous visitation. You will need
to confess that it surprises you how you have made it through all these years
with the same killer habits. You will need to admit that you are scared and it
just New Year. The worst thing living in fear is that if you do nothing about
it, it just keeps on multiplying. You will need to discard your recycled New
Year resolutions that take you to nowhere. You must join the offensive side if
all you have known is being defensive and vice versa. Its time to draw a
decisional balance worksheet. To do this you will need to answer the following questions
as faithfully as possible both short term and long term. What are good things about the behavior/pattern?
What are not so good things about the behavior/pattern? What are good things
about changing the behavior/pattern? And finally what are not so good things
about changing the behavior/pattern? You may want to post your feedback here,
you are welcome. Let’s face falls evidence appearing real {FEAR} and happy safe,
healthy New Year 2016.
